When I first heard about chemical peels, I’ll admit naming something “chemical” didn’t exactly attract me to the procedure. It sounded harsh, and I thought it meant I was going to be dealing with red, peeling skin.

Thank goodness I was willing to test this misconception. Even though I was told it was gentle, I climbed onto Julie’s table and with some trepidation while I awaited my first peel. Just in case – I had cleared my calendar of all social engagements.

Julie thoroughly explained what to expect, and how to make the benefits of the peel last even longer once I was home. Armed with that advice, I felt instantly more comfortable.

With gentle precision, she cleaned and prepared my skin. Although I was braced for a serious burning sensation, the most I felt was mild tingling. “It’s working perfectly”, Julie said. “The formulations have come a long way over the past 10 years.”

Julie started with the deep hydrating peel, part of the Elisabeth Arden Pro Series. It opens up the pores right down to the deeper layers of the dermis. “This is important because when you’re hydrating your skin”, Julie said, “You want to heal and hydrate those deeper layers. If you don’t get to those layers then your skin still remains damaged from the harsh elements of the summer.”

Julie went on to share a few other benefits of the Elizabeth Arden Pro Hydrating Peel:

  • It increases short and long-term skin hydration due to high concentrations of lactic acid
  • Designed to exfoliate, hydrate and even the appearance of the skin
  • It reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles
  • It improves skin texture, tone and resilience, radiance and youthful appearance
  • It can be performed in 30 minutes or less

Once the EA Peel was applied and then removed, we moved onto step two – which is the SilkPeel. The combination of the two peels is important, because one prepares and heals your skin, reducing inflammation, and the second one polishes and protects.

The SilkPeel Dermal Infusion Treatment was an amazing pampering experience. Within 30 minutes, the SilkPeel left my skin silky smooth, hydrated, bright, and full of the youthful, healthy glow that I’ve always wanted.  Julie was masterful at applying it.

I discovered that the SilkPeel is a breakthrough procedure that exfoliates the skin while infusing specific topical medication. It stimulates new cell growth and addresses specific skin conditions. I loved that when I got my SilkPeel I didn’t have any downtime, and didn’t have to worry about dealing with irritated or inflamed skin.
