Surgical Options: Laser Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing:
to resurface and lighten sun-damaged and wrinkled skin to achieve a soft, smooth look.

A procedure to smooth the face, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and reduce the appearance of acne scarring by using a CO2 (carbon dioxide) or Erbium laser that treats layers of damaged skin. It softens lines around the eyes and mouth and minimizes facial scars and unevenly pigmented areas. For many, laser skin resurfacing is now the preferred choice for eliminating facial lines, age spots, wrinkles and sun damaged skin, while replacing it with smooth new skin that offers an invigorating appearance.

Laser skin resurfacing can be performed on the entire face or just certain areas, such as around the eyes or mouth. It works by focusing an intense beam of light energy on specific skin areas. This light energy gently removes your outer layers of skin so fresh new healthy skin can grow in its place.

Laser skin resurfacing can usually be performed on an outpatient basis. Recovery for back to work is 2 weeks. More strenuous activity may resume in 4-6 weeks.
