What You Should Expect Following Your Brow Lift

December 10th, 2013 by Briarwood

A brow lift is a surgical procedure that can rejuvenate the upper portion of the face and forehead. Most of the patients who undergo the procedure at Briarwood Cosmetic Surgical Centre are middle aged and beyond, when the signs of aging start to really show (in the form of saggy, wrinkled skin in the brow area).

A primary concern of patients is the recovery period after their surgery. Since it is an invasive procedure, the body does require some time to recover. It is typical that bruising and swelling occurs, but these are just temporary and will gradually fade in about one to two weeks after surgery. Any stitches that aren’t dissolvable will be removed in about a week.

You’ll need to avoid heavy lifting and exercise for up to two months after your surgery. This is to ensure your recovery and results are not adversely affected.

Rest assured, however, that Dr. Brown will always be available to talk to you and see you should you have any concern about your recovery. You’ll also see Dr. Brown while you’re recovering in the form of post-operative follow up appointments.

While you’ll be able to see results soon after your surgery, you may need to wait a couple of months until the optimal results appear.
